The Capo Coast Journal is a small editorial publication about coastal travel, seaside towns, and the slower rhythms of life by the water. We started writing it because we kept finding ourselves drawn back to the same kinds of places — small harbours, quiet promenades, towns where the working boats still go out before dawn — and noticing that nobody was writing about them in the way they deserved.
We write about coastal destinations, seaside stays, the working life of fishing and harbour communities, and the architecture, food, and culture that emerges from places defined by their proximity to the sea. We are less interested in resort tourism and more interested in the smaller, often overlooked towns where coastal life is still lived rather than performed.
The journal is edited by Eleanor Marsh, with occasional contributions from a small network of writers and photographers who live in or near the places we cover. We do not run sponsored content disguised as editorial. Where we recommend a property or a restaurant, it is because we have been there and would go back.
